Protect the Sphere (jam game)
My first attempt at making a game, made for the Beginner Jam.
The basic idea is you work for a company that builds dyson spheres and you're in charge of building + defending them. That's the idea but I barely had any time... so right now it's just laser go brrt as more and more space rocks appear.
The theme for the jam was "reflection". Yeah, I don't know how I ended up here, BUT solar panels are pretty reflective, and the idea was to use mirrors to make the laser / increase its power, and some other reflection features that I just didn't have time for.
My reflection: I totally failed to make a game in time but I got some good practice and maybe will finish it later. Most of my time was spent trying to make a somewhat reusable component based upgrade/shop manager, which I think I achieved in the end and can reuse in other projects. 😅
Instructions
Hold Spacebar to shoot, click buttons to buy upgrades. I compiled the project within the last few minutes after Googling how, so it might be janky as a web build and in general.
